Why a person pushes the water backwards while swimmming?

A person does not push the water backwards while swimming. Instead, they push against the water to propel themselves forward through it. There are a few techniques used to do this, including:

- Pulling: The swimmer pulls their arms back through the water, creating a force that propels them forward.

- Kicking: The swimmer kicks their feet back through the water, also creating a forward force.

- Body rotation: The swimmer rotates their body from side to side to help them move through the water more efficiently.

By combining these techniques, a swimmer can generate enough force to propel themselves forward at high speeds.
