Will low readings of CYA cause your pool to have chlorine even if you added the recommended dosage?

Low levels of cyanuric acid (CYA) can reduce the effectiveness of chlorine in your pool. CYA acts as a stabilizer for chlorine, helping to protect it from being broken down by the sun's UV rays. When CYA levels are low, chlorine can dissipate more quickly, leaving your pool vulnerable to bacteria and other contaminants.

The ideal CYA range for a pool is between 30 and 50 ppm. If your CYA levels are below 30 ppm, you may need to add a CYA stabilizer to your pool. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for adding CYA stabilizer.

Once you have added CYA stabilizer, you will need to wait 24 hours before adding chlorine to your pool. This will allow the CYA stabilizer to dissolve completely.

After 24 hours, you can add chlorine to your pool as usual. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for adding chlorine.
