1. Turn off the water supply. This is typically done by closing the main water valve, which is usually located near the water meter.
2. Locate the plug lock. The plug lock is a small, cylindrical device that is inserted into the water meter to prevent water from flowing through the meter. It is usually located on the side of the water meter, near the inlet pipe.
3. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the plug lock. Turn the wrench counterclockwise until the plug lock is loose.
4. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the plug lock out of the water meter. Be careful not to damage the water meter.
5. Inspect the plug lock for damage. If the plug lock is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
6. Reinsert the plug lock into the water meter. Hand-tighten the plug lock until it is snug.
7. Turn on the water supply. Check for leaks around the plug lock. If there are any leaks, tighten the plug lock until the leak stops.
