Disconnect the power
1. Turn off the circuit breaker that controls the pool motor.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the motor.
Remove the drain plug
3. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the motor housing.
4. Allow the water to drain from the motor housing.
5. Remove the pump basket.
Replace the impeller
6. Remove the old impeller from the motor shaft.
7. Inspect the impeller for damage and replace it if necessary.
8. Install the new impeller on the motor shaft.
Reinstall the drain plug and pump basket
9. Reinstall the drain plug in the bottom of the motor housing.
10. Reinstall the pump basket.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the circuit breaker
11. Reconnect the power cord to the motor.
12. Turn on the circuit breaker that controls the pool motor.
The pool motor should now be running in reverse.
