How do you troubleshoot a suction problem in inground vinyl liner pool?

1. Check the skimmer basket.

This is the most common cause of suction problems. If the skimmer basket is full of leaves and debris, it will block the flow of water to the pump. Empty the skimmer basket and rinse it off with a hose.

2. Check the pump impeller.

The pump impeller is a rotating blade that creates the suction that draws water through the pool. If the impeller is damaged or clogged, it will not be able to create enough suction. Inspect the impeller for damage and clean it off with a brush.

3. Check the pool filter.

The pool filter removes dirt and debris from the water. If the filter is clogged, it will restrict the flow of water to the pump. Clean the filter according to the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Check the pool pump.

The pool pump is the motor that drives the suction system. If the pump is not running properly, it will not be able to create enough suction. Check the pump for any leaks or damage. Make sure that the pump is properly primed and that the power is turned on.

5. Check the pool plumbing.

If there is a leak in the pool plumbing, it will allow air to enter the system and cause suction problems. Inspect the plumbing for any leaks and repair them as necessary.

6. Call a pool professional.

If you are unable to troubleshoot the suction problem yourself, call a pool professional. They will be able to diagnose the problem and make the necessary repairs.
