The Quest To Find The Best Swimming Pool Contractors
I am about to take on the overwhelming task, at least for me, of starting to interview swimming pool contractors to build the pool that my family and I have been thinking for years. I am not sure why this is a daunting task for me as I make major decisions in my job every day. I think it is because it is a major investment; and a permanent one. If you buy a car and it turns out to be a lemon, you bring it back. If you make the wrong decision on which swimming pool contractors you use to build your dream, you will be looking at your mistakes every day.
This decision requires a lot of research so I start my exhaustive search on the internet. I spend so much time there that I consider Google to be my best friend now. I start by researching the swimming pool contractors that are closest to me. Maybe it is because I think if the they are close in proximity; the job will get done faster.
That is probably not the best criteria to base which swimming pool contractors you would like to bid on a huge project like this. So I take a step back and think that it may be best to see which swimming pool contractors rank high on the first page of Google (my new best friend). As we all know, Google only sends you to the most relevant websites. Companies have earned their way to the top of the first page of Google.
I do my searches and pick the five of the top ten swimming pool contractor websites. I then decide to research them even further by going on social review sites to see what their customers have to say about their experiences. I quickly discover that I have to take these reviews with a grain of salt as this is a platform for the most disgruntled people to vent.
One of the postings trashed some swimming pool contractors because they left a Taco Bell wrap in their backyard and another because a tractor ran over their azaleas. I am thinking that there are a few things that are more important when major construction is going on in your backyard. Plus, which one of us that has a great experience with a company thinks, I can’t wait to go home and do a posting telling the whole world how fabulous these people are and how great my experience was. To my surprise, there were some.
Rather than use the internet as my sole basis for choosing swimming pool contractors to bid on our pool, I started to do the smart thing. I started asking everyone I knew that had a pool what their experience was like with their contractor; my friends, family, co-workers, neighborseveryone. I asked the gal at the grocery store, my vet, and the mailman. I have to admit, this works very well. There is nothing better than a good referral to help you make your choice. It worked well for me and helped me narrow down my search.
Now comes the task of interviewing my select group of swimming pool contractors. Whew! This is going to be a long road.
