The Puy Saint Vincent resort in itself has a reasonable offer to satisfy all members of the family. It counts 34 runs: 2 black, 12 red, 14 blue and 6 green runs, for a total of 75 kilometres of marked runs and 1350 meters of vertical drop. The snowboarders have a boarder-cross and a snowpark to enjoy themselves. The pistes are serviced by 12 ski lifts, and night skiing is possible twice a week on a single run. Snow cannons ensure the quality of the snow coverage from 1400 to 2400 meters.
More demanding skiers and boarders will have a blast in the greater Galaxie ski area. The Puy Saint Vincent weekly ski pass allows its holder to ski on day one each of the Galaxie resorts, so it is unlikely any family member is left unsatisfied. In addition, Les Ecrins National Park close by has more than 60 kilometers of cross-country ski trails to offer. If you are tired of the European vacationer tides rushing into French ski resorts every year, Puy Saint Vincent might just be your dreamed hidden vacation spot.
The kids are well taken care of here: there are many nursery slopes, and ski schools can teach them the basics of ski, snowboard or telemark. The two schools, the cole du ski franais and the cole de ski internationale, have decades of experience and a very good reputation. The regional social center of the Pays des crins also welcomes children as young as three years old on Wednesdays, and every day on school holidays, for half- or full-days of off-slope activities.
Although the aprs-ski options in Puy Saint Vincent are far from endless and you may run out of party options after two or three days, there are all kinds of other thrills off the slope. Dog sledding, snowshoeing and ice-skating are some of the available activities and if you are looking for a tad more adrenalin, try paragliding! To access all scenic viewpoints without too much effort, four-wheeler or snowmobiles rides are all indicated options. After spending a few days in the great Puy Saint Vincent outdoors, skiing and doing all sorts of activities off the slopes, you'll be happy how well your kids and you sleep, and you will unquestionably go back home rested and satisfied with your ski holidays.
