This year the North Lake Tahoe Snow Festival celebrating its 25th anniversary promises to be the season's most exciting event. Attractions planned during the ten day happening include the opening ceremony fireworks, torchlight parade, SnowFest Parade, Kid's Parade, SnowFest Glowstick Parade, Snow Sculpture Contest, Ice Cream Eating Contest, live music, theater, snowman contest, polar bear swim, and the Great Ski Race and much more. There is something for everyone on and off the mountain.

Snowboard Competitions?

USASA Halfpipe, Slalom, Giant Slalom & Superpipe
February 2006 - Sierra at Tahoe

The USASA sanctioned competitions offer a chance for amateur riders of all ages to test their skills. Sierra at Tahoe will host the USASA Boardercross on February 11th and the Slopestyle Event on February 12th. February 18th will kick-off the Superpipe contest where riders will rock themselves off of one North America's best halfpipes. These are but of few of the comps in the USASA circuit happening at Lake Tahoe Resorts this winter.

Big Mountain Freeskiing?

March 29 ? April 2, 2006 ? Kirkwood

Starting March 29th, Kirkwood will host North America's most extreme free skiing and riding event. The event takes place at the legendary Cirque, a steep cliff riddled area of the mountain opened only for this competition. In this event, athletes are evaluated in 5 categories: line choice, control, fluidity, technique and aggression. The prime viewing place is the Devil's Corral where the party is sure to be as spectacular as the event.
