St. Anton am Arlberg is located at the foot of the Arlbergpass in Tyrol close to the border to Vorarlberg. It is one of the internationally known ski resorts in Austria. In winter St. Anton am Arlberg offer best conditions for ambitious skiers, snowboarders and freeriders as well as for aprés ski fans. 20 years ago summer tourism had been insignificant. However, since the 90s more and more hotels also welcome summer guests and have great summer offers.
In summer St. Anton am Arlberg offer numerous nordic walking trails as well as mountain bike trails that lead to the most beautiful viweing points of the region. Hikers find 96 km of marked hiking trails and also climbers will find multiple opportunities for their sport. In addition there is a pool available that also includes a wellness center.
Due to its geographic location of 1300 meters a.s.l. St. Anton am Arlberg can guarantee snow from the beginning of December to the end of April. The regional capital of Tyrol, Innsbruck, is about 98 km away. A trip is recommendable, especially on bad weather days.
St. Anton am Arlberg has about 2800 inhabitants and there are 70 hotels offering accommodation for guests. St. Anton am Arlberg can welcome more than 1 million guests every year. If you want to save some money you may also choose from a wide range of holiday apartments. Moreover, there are also many boarding houses available that are often furnished in traditional style and will give you an authentic Austrian feeling.  Since St. Anton am Arlberg is one of the most popular ski destination in Austria it might be difficult to find accommodation, especially during the peak season. Thus, it is recommendable to book early.
St. Anton am Arlberg is one of the greatest ski resorts in Austria offering 276 km of trails of which 105 km are marked as easiest (blue), 141 km are marked as intermediate (red) and 30 km are marked as very difficult (black). In addition, there are 150 km of ungroomed ski routes. 86 lifts give skiers and riders a quick ride uphill. 37 are surface lifts, 39 are chair lifrs and 10 are gondolas. All in all St. Anton is one of the best ski resorts in the Alps, There is a big beginners area available as well as many ski schools that offer a great variety of programs for young and old.  This is especially great for beginners. Snowboarders will find many powder routes and a terrain park. Advanced skiers will love the varied terrain with many intermediate trails. And experts can expect most ski routes available in an Austrian ski resort. If you still have some strength left after an exciting day on the slopes you will find multiple aprés ski location in the valley where you can party all night long. All in all the resort in recommendable for skiers an rider of all ability levels.  For experts and fans of aprés ski there is no resort that could top St. Anton am Arlberg.
