Some people consider skiing just a sport while others consider it
a way of life.
There are several different types of Ski bindings and boots, so the types of
skiing you are interested in doing will determine the type of bindings and
boots that you will need
For the purpose of this article I chose the Salomon Z12 TI Ski Binding (100 mm)
Brake 2010.
The construction allows you to step into the bindings without any problems,
quickly adjust to various boot designs, has vertical progressive pivot, and is
recommended for beginning skiers to advanced skiers. The specs for these skies
are, brake width 100 (mm),
DIN: high 12 and 4 for the low, for weights between 92 pounds to 264 pounds.
For boots they are somewhat dependent on the skier抯 ability, but the important
factor for boots is that they fit comfortably and allow the wearer to have as
much control as possible when walking or skiing. The ideal boot will have a
snug fit at the ball and heel of your foot, and the shaft of your leg. The heel
needs to fit snug in the pocket. The flexibility needs to correspond with your
weight and skiing ability. Volume will depend on the shape and width of your
foot. Do you have high arches, flat feet, is your forefoot wide or narrow?
Skiing can be a fun and exciting sport or hobby which ever you want it to be as
long as you take the time to get and use the right equipment for you.
