Xbox 360 Red Ring Of Death - 3 Ways To Fix It

2016/7/23 10:19:01

Every games console has its problems and the Xbox 360 is no different. The 360 suffers from the red ring of death or rrod. The red lights indicate a number of errors but it is the three red lights that is the worst.

The 3 red lights error tells us our console has suffered from a general hardware failure. If go to Microsoft's Xbox web page it tells you that you need to get it repaired. If you are looking to repair your Xbox 360 you have three choices to go about solving your issue.

1. Towel trick. Your friends or fellow gamers may have told you about this one. Basically it involves wrapping your faulty Xbox 360 in a towel and then turning it on for a little while until it is fixed. Other variations tell you to put your beloved console in an oven whilst wrapped in the towel.

This method can work, but nine times out if ten it is a temporary fix. It is also dangerous for your console as you are subjecting it to temperatures it is not designed to be in. I personally do not recommend this method; if you do try it, it is at your own risk I have warned you.

2. Microsoft. The obvious solution really or is it? You could send your console away to be repaired but ask yourself a question, can you be without your console for about six weeks. Thought not, me neither.

The other thing to remember with this method is the fact that unless your console is still under warranty you will have to pay for the repairs. At the time of writing the cost is in the region of $ 150, I don't know about you but if I have that sort of cash lying around I would rather buy a couple of new games.

3. Fix it yourself. Yes this is possible of you know what you are doing. If not it is still a realistic idea to fix your Xbox 360 red lights of death by yourself. I would suggest Reading an Xbox repair guide though or you may risk doing even more damage to your console.

I'd this sounds like something you may like to do I have to recommend a guide written by James Dean. Thousands of people have used his information to repair their consoles. It is in such an easy to read format you never get confused about what you are supposed to be doing, there are even videos that show the whole process to you as you go.

Well I hope that you are a little more informed about your options and would say to you have a go fixing the red ring o death yourself as it is a rewarding experience. I also saved myself some money. The only downside is now when it happens to mates consoles they expect me to fix it for them too.
