Aggressive Skating Is Classed As An Extreme Sport.
Aggressive skating is a type of inline skating that has now been
classed as
an extreme sport. During the 80's this became popular when inline
skaters
began to experiment with tricks and stunts inspired by BMX and
Skateboarding. There are 3 main types of tricks done in Aggressive
inline
skating:
Street - These tricks are literally done on the streets using street
furniture such as rails and steps.
Park - Skate parks have an array of ramps, rails and try to mimic some
of
the street furniture found on the streets.
Vert - These are aerial tricks which are usually done on ramps,
especially
half pipes.
If you decide to take up aggressive skating as a hobby or a profession
then
you need the following to get started:
- A pair of beginners skates (expect to pay around $180 for your first
pair
of skates).
- Safety gear: A helmet, Knee pads, Elbow pads, Wrist protection, and a
Bum
saver.
- Cool loose clothing that is hard wearing and you don't mind ruining.
Aggressive skating is one of those sports that seem to go through
periods of
popularity like BMX and Skateboarding, but you will always find some
aggressive skaters in your neighbourhood, or at you local skate park
Finding
other aggressive skaters will help you improve your skills as they can
tell
you what you are doing right or wrong, and skating with friends will
always
motivate you to try a little harder, and push yourself to try a new
trick.
