Buy Skateboards
Basis Components
The skateboards consist of three main parts which includes the wheels, the trucks, and the deck. The necessity for wheels is pretty obvious, but what's the truck. The trucks are the axles that are "T-shaped" and attach to the front and rear wheels of the board. So that leaves the deck, clearly that's the part of the skateboard where the rider stands. The typical designs for the most popular skateboards today have a deck that has the nose and tail curved upwards, and the center of the board is somewhat dipped. The decks come in various widths, and the choice made in the width depends on the type of skateboarding that is preferred.
Types, Tricks, and Sizes
Every individual who's in to skateboarding have various styles they prefer. Vert skaters prefer wider boards, and typically the street skaters find the narrower boards more appealing, and there are assorted styles such as the regular, mongo, or goofy foot. When the skate boarder becomes more adept at the sport, there are even more styles they'll enjoy such as downhill, long boarding, street skating, vert skating, and freestyle. Add the tricks to that and the extreme sports styles kick in as well.
Now that the basics of the skateboard is mastered, start adding some tricks to the mix, such as the "Ollie" which is a basic jump that allows the skateboarder to jump over various objects. A "Fakie" is where the boarder is in a preferred stance but is riding backwards, and there are also frontside and backside tricks - depending on whether the skater is facing the obstacle or ramp or has their back to the obstacle. There are also various degrees of turning that include 180, 350, 540, and even 900 degree turns that the more advanced skaters exhibit. There is Grinding, Boardsliding, Kickflipping, Heelflipping, and manual Wheelies. Regardless of the combination of tricks and styles, the type and quality of the skateboard purchased is very important to the quality and durability of the tricks performed.
Sizing of the skateboard is also very important to the stunts being performed, and these boards range in size from a "Stubby" 24 inch model to the "Vault Malibu" that is a 55 inch long wheelbase that provides stability for street cruising. They also range from the beginners "Pintail", to the "Fatpig" and the more advanced models.
