Wrestling school preperation?
Question
Hey, I am wanting to go to wrestling school, but i wont go till after i graduate college. And i was wanting to do something now that would help me in wrestling, i was thinking either Boxing, Martial arts, or ultimate fighting. With of those would help the most? and would all the prices be pretty close to each other or do you think some might be alot more expensive then the other? THANKS
Answer
It all depends on what you're going for. Ultimate Fighting won't help you because it will teach you how to fight for real and it will be hard to transition from that to pro-wrestling(teaches you certain tendencies that are hard to break). Martial Arts are good because it teaches you many things that are beneficial.
Boxing is not great, because it's mainly just going to help cardio and it's more of an exercise(it's also the cheapest of the 3). It will definitely keep you in shape, without a doubt. But it won't help for your future in wrestling.
MA will, because many styles of wrestling use Martial Arts in them. Such as the Chinese and Japanese wrestling style.
However, I'd say that it would be a bad move to do any of these financially. Seeing as once you spend time doing all this, money will be wiped out and you won't have as much for wrestling school. Also, why not go to a wrestling school now? You could spend your money there and you'd be better off. You probably are worried about time, right? That you'd spend too much in a wrestling school.
It's not like you're there any more than you would be a class for Boxing or Martial Arts. You won't be there everyday either. They will work with you, seeing as you are paying them of course.
It's up to you of course. But, if you want to avoid wrestling school right now, try martial arts. Classes for that are pretty cheap, they have deals usually for beginners.
