Answer
Hello Adam,

When people first go to pro wrestling schools, they usually aren't in great shape. Some are, but most aren't. Same goes with wrestling ability. The point of a pro wrestling school is to learn how to become a wrestler- so most students won't start with what they need to work on pro wrestling shows.

History has shown that those students that can handle the training can learn the moves- although some with have trouble with high-flying moves or technical moves. That's fine, because those students, if they become wrestlers, either keep going until they master it or else simply use other moves. You don't need to be able to perform every move. Looking at a move like a missile dropkick, it can seem hard, but if you break it up into steps, its isn't as difficult. Good pro wrestling schools try to make the moves as easy to grasp as possible. The point of pro wrestling schools is to teach wrestlers, so the good ones do their best to help the students learn.

You do need some level of fitness though to begin. As long as you aren't overweight, don't worry too much. You need the stamina to be able to go through training, but you don't need to have a lot of muscles to start at a pro wrestling school. You can work on that after you begin. Numerous pro wrestling schools teach students how to work out as part of their course. If you look at some of the independent wrestlers out there, many of them don't have the kind of physiques you'll see in the WWE.

You won't know for sure what you can do unless you try. You aren't wasting the trainer's time if you don't make it- there are always going to be a number of students who realise they don't have what it takes at that time, or pro wrestling just isn't for them. It is, however, the students that do make it, rather than those that don't, that prove that the trainer is making a difference.

If it makes you feel more confident/comfortable, you could try to improve your fitness before going to a pro wrestling school. You might choose to learn a martial art or do some amateur wrestling or boxing so that you know some skills and moves that are transferrable to pro wrestling- proving to yourself that you can learn moves.

Good luck in your future endeavours.
