What was the real deal and how did the situation with Sid Vicious and Arn Anderson escalate to that high of violence?

Hi Willie.  Thanks for the question.

There's been several versions of what really happened, so I can't really tell you for sure the entire story.

Basically, the most common version of the incident is that Sid and Arn were out having drinks after a show in the UK.  Sid apparently said Arn wasn't a very good draw as a wrestler, and that Ric Flair needed to step aside and let someone else have the spotlight.

It was basically a war of words between them, and the alchohl didn't help any.  They went back to their hotel rooms, and Sid grabbed a scissors from his room and went to Arn's room.  He apparently hit Arn with something, and then began stabbing him with the scissors until other wrestlers were able to break it up.

Sid ended up being fired from WCW, while Arn remained with the company, as WCW officials believed Sid was the main instigator.  Sid apparently apologized to Arn, and as far as I know, there weren't any further incidents between the two of them.
