Answer
How are you doing Leo?
Usually, it is difficult to help somebody with a gimmick if you have never met them, never seen them train, and know next to nothing about who they are. What I will help you with is to give you some ideas and websites to help you build your own character and build your own gimmick.
Basically, a gimmick should be an extension of one part of your personality. Then you take that part of your personality and amplify it by 50. Since you are considering unique and scary, that is more difficult then you would imagine. Almost everybody is looking for that, but those characters, that are good, are few and far between.
When you build a character, it should be something that you can see yourself doing. If you don't think you could wear cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, you probably don't want to be a rodeo character. I hope you can understand what I mean by that. Also, since you haven't begun training yet, wait until you start training before you fine-tune the gimmick. You mention that you would like to be a submission and take-down type of wrestler, but since you do not know what moves you are good at and what moves you are not good at, don't pigeon hole yourself to a specific thing. As I tell all my wrestling students, "Figure out what moves you are good at and what moves you are not good at. Show off the moves you do well and hide the moves that you don't do well. This is for both giving and taking". Basically, if you are good at slams, but not good at submissions, then why would you want to build a submission character.
Now, for some scary ideas, I would recommend going to http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_killers/ for some ideas about a unique and scary character. Ed Gein, Richard Ramirez, John Wayne Gacy, and Dennis Rader to name a few; all of these men were scary and unique. If you don't feel comfortable with any of these ideas, then I would recommend reading books and websites about occult activities. Charles Manson, David Koresh, and Jonestown are good examples there. Also, you can go in a more common type of environment and watch CSI, NCIS, Criminal Mind and shows like this to get ideas as well. Now do not think you have to use the ideas I gave you in their entirety. You may find something from many different guys and girls that you like and make your own character based upon parts of everything you like.
I hope I have been able to help you somewhat with what you are looking for. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
