Team wwe vs Nexus
Question
Team Wwe vs Nexus.....the most awaiting %26 anticipating match for few months but what happened???? DISAPPOINTING AT ALL !
I believe the people on Internet are better story liner than WWE official story liners. I mean that was the great chance for building up some great story. First the disappointed when John Cena called out DANIEL BRIAN as 7th member and audience reaction was obvious....no cheers. are they (story writers) mad....why on earth they believed that Daniel would have got a good response where people were expecting HHH or Rock at summer slam. Mark Henry would have been a better option.
then second disappointment....match ended in a very traditional way with CENA beating all. He didnt turned heel as were expecting, no NEXUS leader appointed, no twist in story line...just a simple match.
again....disappointing Payper view...whats your opinion?
Answer
Hi Ahsen. Thanks for the question.
I agree with you that the match ending was a bit of a disappointment. I guess I don't really have a problem with Cena winning, but like you said, I just thought there was going be a bigger surprise, either with a bigger name joining Team WWE, or a member of the team turning on them (although I guess you can say that Edge and Jericho kind of did turn, since they attacked Cena after they were eliminated).
It was kind of in the back of my mind that Cena would turn, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it wouldn't happen. For one thing, Cena is pushed as one of the top faces right now, and if he were to turn, who replaces him? WWE is loaded with great heels at the moment, so I think it would have been a little lopsided if Cena were to turn.
I don't really have a problem with Danielson at all, I just don't think SummerSlam was the right place to bring him back. They should have just went with the Miz instead, and then had Danielson come back on Raw and be one of the wrestlers against the Nexus.
You brought up the Rock and Triple H, and I guess I don't know why anybody would have been expecting them. It would have been a huge surprise, but not realistic. Triple H is still recovering from surgery, and has not been cleared to wrestle yet. With the Rock, I don't see him coming back without some kind of buildup ahead of time. SummerSlam would have had a lot more buys if fans knew the Rock was returning, instead of just having it be a surprise.
As far as the overall PPV, I didn't think it was that good. I was disappointed that Nexus interfered in the Kofi/Dolph match, as that had potential to be really good.
Orton/Sheamus was good, although I don't like the DQ ending, especially on a major PPV.
Kane/Rey was good too, although it still ticks me off that Kane turned out to be The Undertaker's attacker. Kane has done a great job with this angle, but that kind of ruined it for me, since I kind of figured it would be Kane all along.
The rest of the matches weren't anything special in my opinion, so an overall definite thumbs down from me.
Thanks again for the question. Let me know if you have anything else.
Have a great night!
