several questions
Question
Hello again ! with number of questions...
1 - TNA story lines are no getting irritating for some weeks. Jeff Hardy's heeling is interesting but other supporting storylines are haphazard like IMMORTALS and FORTUNE. I think they shall keep one group instead of 2. Because they seem to failed in giving proper execution of such storylines. Like just after the formation of these groups, Matt Morgan get out of it. Twisting shouldnt be done in such a short time that it couldnt even digest by viewers. Same is the case with EV2, whats their future, whatelse those extremers can do to entertain the public...? Dreamer-RVD angle was ridiculous and whole Turning Point ended in firing of SABU....the only member of EV2 who still have some thing to entertain, got fired. Jarrett-Joe angle, MMGs-Team 3D are all looking like we are seeing same thing again and again just after he break of few months. What do you think about these mismanaged storylines and its execution?
2 - Where is Desmond Wolfe now a days and why he is out of spotlight since pay-per view?
3 - Do u think it would be justifiable to make WADE BARRETT a WWE Champion where he had not fought any match except with Orton or some Disqualified Tag Tam Matches? I believe that will certainly disgrace the value of championship. They should first put him in some strong matches like they did with Sheamus or Kofi Kingston to make his true wrestling image then to award him title?
4 - Why Viladimir Kozlove is being ignored so much where i think he is one of the true legit wrestlers who deserves to be in title run. Just because of low mic capability i dont think he is far behind, the reasons might be some thing else because accent or language problem is also with Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Alberto di Nero but they are highlighted?
5 - Whats going on with Undertaker-Lesner (suppose to be) match at WrestleMania? is it all rumors or managements are really concerned about this? Also, do you think that a wrestling company shall take such step that to retire his top most wrestler by some outsider means from another federation?
thanx
Answer
Hi Ahsen. Thanks for the question.
1. I don't agree with all of what TNA is doing right now, but at the same time, I'm willing to let the angles play out a little bit longer before I would consider them a failure.
With EV2, I'm not too surprised to see that group start to disband a little bit. I don't fault TNA for trying to reinvent ECW, and even giving them a PPV. However, I just don't think hardcore wrestling, like ECW was, is as over with the fans as it used to be. It also doesn't help that nearly all the members of EV2 are well past their prime, and are midcard wrestlers at best, with Van Dam being the exception.
It looks like the release of Sabu is just the start, as I read today that another EV2 member lost a match, forcing him to leave TNA. I won't say who it is, in case you don't want to know before the show airs. Also, Rhino's contract is up, and it sounds like he won't be back...and he wasn't the one who lost the match.
With the Immortals and Fortune, I guess I'm neutral when it comes to them. I'm waiting to see how this angle plays out. Right now the Immortals and Fortune are in control, and I'm waiting to see how TNA has the other wrestlers get back at them.
Obviously, just like the NWO, I think we will see members leave the group at some point. We've already seen some tension between some members of the group.
As far as the Matt Morgan situation, TNA was basically forced to do that. Mr. Anderson was supposed to face Jeff Hardy at the last PPV, but, he's out of action with a concussion. Van Dam could have been used instead, but I think TNA is saving that match for down the road. There wasn't anybody obvious to replace Anderson, but I think Morgan was a good choice.
The Jarrett/Joe angle doesn't do much for me. Jarrett/Angle intrigues me more. I didn't read what happened at the recent TNA tapings, but it sounds like Team 3D will begin a singles feud with each other.
2. Desmond Wolfe failed a physical prior to the last PPV he was scheduled be on, and hasn't appeared since. As far as I know, the reason why he failed was never revealed, but the rumor is that he is suffering from post concussion syndrome, as a result of concussions he received prior to signing with TNA.
3. Unless a wrestler is just ridiculously over, such as Brock Lesnar and Goldberg were at the time, I've never been a fan of a wrestler with such little experience wining a major title.
Wade Barrett has a good future ahead of him, but I don't think he deserves the title at this point, and for the reasons you brought up. He's a good wrestler, but he hasn't proven anything without help from the rest of Nexus.
I honestly don't see Barrett winning the title at Survivor Series, unless Cena turns heel. I'm interested in how this match plays out, as far as the Cena situation goes.
4. With Kozlov, I just don't think they've found right the gimmick to get him over enough with the fans to justify a title run. The rest of the guys you mentioned have gimmicks that seemed to take off right away.
The language barrier might have a little to do with it, but I don't think it's a major reason, although I think Kozlov is one of those wrestlers who would benefit from having a manager.
5. At this point, I think it's all rumors regarding Lesnar and the Undertaker. I honestly don't see it happening, if only because I don't see Lesnar returning to WWE full time. I can't believe WWE would bring in Lesnar for a one time match at WrestleMania, let alone win it. At the same time, I can't see Lesnar coming in for one match, only to lose.
Regardless of whether the match happens or not, I don't see the Undertaker retiring anytime soon. He works a limited schedule as it is, and even though he has been injury prone (he's injured again now), I still think he has a few good years left in him.
Thanks again the question. Let me know if you have anything else.
Have a great night!
Dave
