Answer
Hello James,
17 is by no means too late. In the UK, the usual minimum age for pro wrestling schools is 16, but 1 year isn't going to be the make or break factor. Some British pro wrestling schools have shifted to a minimum age of 18 like elsewhere in the world, though many schools worldwide train those 16 and 17 with parental permission. To put things in perspective, there are many in their early twenties that are considering or have decided to become pro wrestlers. 17 is by no means too old- in many pro wrestling schools, if anything, you would be considered too young. I would have put the too young in italics, but oddly enough, that isn't possible here.
Looking at the subject line, age does impact one's chances, but at your age your chances aren't hurt. Age is just one factor that has an impact. Hard work, determination and through that, skill, can break any barrier caused by age.
As always, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck in your future endeavours.
