Answer
How are you doing Jose?
Weight really doesn't matter when it comes to being a professional wrestler...The only time weight and physical appearance matters is when you wrestle in the WWE, TNA, ROH, or the high dollar Japanese leagues. With that being said, you do need to have good cardiovascular endurance. Almost everything in wrestling requires you to be able to breathe and talk after 20 minutes or more.
I am not really an expert on diets, nutrition, or exercises, but I can give you some guidance on all three. When it comes to diets and nutrition, stick with unprocessed foods as much as possible. Eat a well-balanced meal and with moderate portions. When you get full, stop eating. It takes some willpower, but if you truly want to get in the ring and entertain, you will find a way to stick with it. Also, read information on the internet. Fad diets don't work and I personally recommend to avoid them...Eat right, eat less and eat balance.
On an exercise program, there is no miracle formula except hard work and sticking with it. I would base your workout program on 35% cardio, 35% flexibility, and 30% muscle strength. The cardio will help you in the ring by allowing you to continue to entertain after 20 minutes. A good judge is to jog around your block a couple of times. If it takes longer then about 10 minutes (if you live in the average sized neighborhood in a city or suburb, or if you have to stop and take a breather, then work toward that goal and improve from there. Flexibility is important as it keeps you from getting hurt. Stretch all parts of your body before you work out and when you are finished. Don't bounce, but slow progressive stretching. Muscle strength is only important from the standpoint that the moves will be easier to perform. Wrestling is a team effort and your opponent will be helping you, but you still need to be able to help them as well. You don't need to be a musclebound freak, but you do need muscle training.
If you can afford it, I would recommend a personal trainer and/or a gym membership. Most people in a gym will be more than willing to give you advice if you ask them.
Hope this helps you. Good luck.
Desperately want to be involved w/ Pro Wrestling
