ECW staples-where are they?
Question
I have a few questions regarding a few great wrestlers from ECW that seemed to have disappeared from sight as soon as ECW disbanded in 2001. Where are the following?
Mikey Whipwreck?(He was the ultimate underdog, and never had a bad gimmick)
the Sandman? (I saw him briefly on WWE programming)
tommy dreamer? (One of the most underrated guys of all time)
Perry saturn ? (someone told me he was dead)
Tajiri? (Good run with the WWE but long disappeared)
Answer
Hi Lyle,
Good question I will answer as full as possible.
Lets start with Tommy Dreamer at the moment he is wrestling with TNA and was in a faction called EV2 which contained other former ECW members (Stevie Richards, Raven, Rhino, RVD and Sabu)
the sandman was also part of EV2 but left TNA by August 23 2010 and has made no appearances since.
Mikey Whipwreck went into semi-retirement in 2003 and has worked on the independent scene since.
Yoshihiro Tajiri is now wrestling in japan for a company called SMASH (which took the place of HUSTLE) and has also wrestled for Fight Club Finland.
Perry Saturn (real name Perry Arthur Satullo )is possibly the most unusual story so i looked up wikipedia :
Satullo claimed that he would return to the ring on September 17, 2004 to work a match for Frank Goodman, the promoter of USA Pro Wrestling. However, he later no-showed the event, claiming that the doctors would not clear him to wrestle. He was also originally scheduled to appear at the Hardcore Homecoming event in Philadelphia, but he did not appear and later refused to take any more bookings, saying that he was not medically cleared to wrestle.
Satullo then seemingly disappeared from public view and was not seen for several years. Family, friends, and his three ex-wives had no information as to his whereabouts. Furthermore, due to the fact that he missed the funerals of two of his good friends (Chris Candido and John Kronus) and the funeral of his mentor Killer Kowalski, some speculated that he may have been dead. At the time, he was reportedly last spotted in Mason City, Iowa in 2007. He had been living in an apartment owned by former wrestling manager Sonny Onoo, however the two had a falling out and Satullo moved out of the apartment. There was also a rumor that since Satullo moved from Iowa, he had begun working at a door manufacturing warehouse in Albert Lea, Minnesota and claiming retirement from professional wrestling.
In November 2009, the Wrestling Observer newsletter reported that Satullo had been found alive and well. In June 2009, he married a woman named Lisa Marie Kuhlemeier and they reside together in Albert Lea, Minnesota with her two children. Satullo is claiming to be completely sober and working at Larson Manufacturing door company.
Satullo was backstage visiting former colleagues at the WWE pay杙er杤iew Bragging Rights on October 24, 2010.
I hope this answers your question.
