Question
Hello my name is Molly and I'm 12 and I want to become a wwe diva and I'm from wisconsin and their are no schools here. So what am I suppose to do about the situation.and when and how old do I have to be to become a wwe diva.

Answer
Hello Molly,

Well being 12, you can't really even train at schools yet. Most wrestling schools don't allow 12 year olds, they usually start training around 16 to 18 and up. Some do have a juniors program though, but the lowest I saw that was at 14 thus far here in the US. Now in Canada and Japan, the age limit is a bit different.

Now, I can't really tell you to go out of state to neighboring states, as that would be irresponsible of me to tell you at 12. Also, you don't need to train at 12 because your body is still in a growing state. For girls this stops around 15 to 17. For guys, we grow until around 22 to 24. Fair? Probably not, lol. But guys can start training earlier because the main part of their spine and body has grown properly.

But, the reason we tell you to hold off is because of the spine and nervous system. Now pay close attention to this because you'll need to know it. Your spine is what helps to control your entire body. Literally, if you even mess up one part of it, you could have other body parts effected. If you mess up anything between your shoulder blades, this will cause you to barely be able to use your arms. This is also a classic place where people land, the upper back, when moves are done to them in a ring.

Also, the ring is not really padded. It has about a inch to half inch of padding and the rest is wood underneath it. Usually ply-wood some and a few others. It's not like a trampoline of course.

Now being a WWE Diva is a cool dream to have, I know a lot of girls who would like to be one day. But, I wouldn't want you to train in the ring like that until your body was fully prepared to do so.

But what to do until then?

I say play sports, such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc. I'd also take up swimming, as swimming works every part of the body that you'll use in wrestling. It'll make it prepared. So, do this in the mean-time, and then by the time you're able to drive, you can worry about going to schools. Or if your parents take you, at the very least, the only time you need to try and train is by 15 and up.

Also, don't invest in any new schools that pop up. These usually are what we call, "money-takers". They pop up and expect you to invest months or years of training money, and they shut down within a few months, taking all the cash you invested. Some actually pop up and try to be successful, but can't and have to close. Yet you paid for a lot of training they now will not give. So, only go to schools that have been around a while, and no new ones. This is much better than getting your money taken. Some invest thousands and lose it all due to new schools.

Sorry I couldn't be more help Molly, but please be safe when you do start because wrestling can hurt you if you're not training properly
