Good Wrestling Name.

Question
Hey, I'm looking to be a wrestler. I just got out of wrestling school and I have a pretty good moveset now. I'm about 6 ft 2 and I weigh about 216 lbs. My gimmick is that of a straight-edge (I've been sXe before CM Punk made it famous) and snarky guy. All I need is a name. A name similar to Austin Aries.

Answer
Well you obviously know you aren't gonna go with CM Punk, lol. The thing is, when coming up with a name it's hard for someone to do it for you. Because YOU in turn have to come up with what fits you and the character you wish to bring out. Now, many use their real name. While you have others out there who come up with far different names for their character. SO, what you need to do is sit down and think of the character you want. THEN, think of what you name would fit. For example, you wouldn't refer to drugs or alcohol in your name due to being straightedge. So, you need to come up with something resembling it if you wish to go with this gimmick. However, I would not advise it because it's already done on a big scale with Punk and WWE.

Obviously being straightedge is great. But the gimmick on the Indy scene would never work out. So, I'd really look into characters.

Austin Aries picked his name easy, by his month's zodiac sign. Then added it to his name.

So, things like that are easy to do. Although, it doesn't always work out. Mine would be Joe Capricorn. So, ya gotta make sure it works for that side of things, lol.

When you sit down and know the character you want to have, then know if it'll be edgy, heel/face, etc. Then names won't be as tough because you can sit down and write out all that fit for it.

That's all I can give you here because a name is something a wrestler MUST come up on their own in my opinion. Because then, the name will fit them and not someone's idea of them
