Regarding the WWF and now WWE, how much say does Vince McMahon have in deciding champions, winners of matches, storylines, etc.?

I used to think that McMahon literally decided everything, but then he hired people to actually write the plots and matches. But I'm not sure anymore.

Hi John.  Thanks for the question.

Vince pretty much has the final say regarding everything you asked about.  He decides who the champions are going to be, and he has the final say in storylines and winners of the matches.

WWE is just like any other TV show, in that it has writers come up storylines.  Vince doesn't do all of this by himself, but he meets with the writers each week to put together Raw, Smackdown, etc.  

I am there are some areas where Vince is more involved then others.  For instance, he definitely determines who his champions are going be.  He might also be more involved in a big storyline, like Cena vs. Rock, instead of worrying about what Heath Slater is going to be doing.

So basically, Vince has always had the final say on what goes on.
