How wrestlers get a push?
Question
Hi Steve,
My question is that how wrestlers are given a push? I mean on what basis the promotions decide to use their wrestlers? I am not just referring to WWE or TNA but any promotion.
Every aspiring wrestler wants to be the Champion or in the Main Events. But everyone doesn't get that so how should one prepare himself?
It might be the gimmick that a promotion wants to use or sometimes its just the fan following but I still dont get it. Because even though some wrestlers are liked by the audience the are mostly jobbers. How does the promoters decide to make champions? Because sometimes a gimmick is given to a wrestler by their promotion itself. And one more thing that bugs me is that Stone Cold was being himself and that is how he became a star. How????

Answer
Hello Faraz. There is no factual answer to your question. Promoters push different people at different times to see how crowd reaction will be and how a wrestler will respond to a variety of situations. In the case of Stone Cold, it was the WWE's attitude era and they wanted to promote somebody to become the biggest thing ever and who better to do it with then somebody that has an extremely large attitude. Sorry there are no better answers then this alone.
