aggression
Question
My son is 9 years old and in his second year of wrestling. He knows enough to be able to win but is not aggressive enough to attack. Any ideas on how to get him to be more aggressive? Any advice would go a long way. Thanks
Answer
in my experience there is no tried and true method to get someone to do something they aren't willing to do. encouraging him to attack is always good. praise following a good shot despite its success or failure is good. helping him understand why he should, or why it would help, or how it would help him win, or keep him from losing are a few things to try. understand can go a long way. when he's comfortable with his shots and confident in his offense they he'll be more inclined to shoot. so do whatever you can to bolster his confidence and help him develop that comfort. good luck!
