slowing ppl down
Question
QUESTION: and how can i slow other wrestlers down and how can i speed them up to open them up to get them out of position if they just standing there
and what can i do if they are faster then me
ANSWER: speeding them up is tricky. i don't know if you want to speed them up. really all you want to do is make them react. if you can use your hands and feet(fake a shot) together you can get someone to think you're doing something other then what you plan on doing. its easier said then done, but you want to fake a shot so he reacts to it in the hopes that another shot will open up. it takes practice, lots of practice. many people at the college level haven't figured that one out.
slowing someone down, that's a different story, because that is entirely possible. if you know someone is faster than you and you know that they know. they're probably going to try to keep some distance in the hopes of using their speed to make shots. you have to close the gap. try shooting into them; make the same penetration step as you would with taking a shot, but this time you're too far away so you don't really have to worry about getting a leg, it won't be there. but if you cover enough ground you should come up(with your hands out and ready for him) right in front of him ready to tie up and wrestle. effectively closing the gap and throwing a wrench into his strategy. if you find that he's broken away and is attempting to evade your grasp just do it again. try disguising it though, don't make it obvious that that's what you are going to try and do. see if that helps. good luck!

QUESTION: and how can i shoot in angles better and why is it important?
and how can i control the pace in tempo of a match in just being in control in controling my opponenet?
Answer
well its not necessarily shooting at an angle its whether or not your opponent is at an angle when you shoot. a lot or most shots are straight on, or at least they should be. if you have a good fake and a good set up your opponent should put himself at an angle, or a disadvantage while you're shooting, giving you the upper hand in the battle for the take down. i learned a lot about getting angles when i shoot from Carl Perry from illinois. he was a national champion and always had good angles when he shot.
controlling the pace means you can control the action. if he wants to go faster, controlling him will slow the pace down so you don't get as tired as he'd like you to get. if you want to pick up the pace means you can hand fight and fake shots and make him react constantly so as not to give up points. this will make him tired if you can do it well. hope this helps. good luck.
I might have to skip wrestling this year
