Balancing Weight Loss and Strength Gains Before Wrestling
Question
I'm a heavyweight wrestler at my school and I'm serious about weightlifting and exercise. I've heard that when it comes to burning off fat but maintaining muscle, high intensity training is the best way to go. But I'm confused as to what to do nutrition-wise. I generally eat healthy and right now I'm about 258 pounds. How many calories and what foods should I take in. Could you provide a good sample diet or an idea of how to construct one to adhere to?
I feel I'd still like to add on muscle, but I'd rather lose excess weight at this point. I'm willing to work as hard as it takes, but I also want to be smart about it so it doesn't have any negative results. Could you help me figure out my diet situation? Thank you in advance.
Answer
Hey Penn,
Whats up? Thanks for the question. It seems like you are very dedicated to doing whatever it takes to get to the optimum level that can be achieved as a serious contender. I am an expert in helping young men navigate within this area. I recommend that you consider and herbal food called "Action Caps" which are designed to cause your excess body fat to be utilized as an energy source.(http://opp.sunrider.com/healthessentials/)This is my website (pictured my Uncle Bobby Douglas, Cael Sanderson) at 2002 World Team Trials - Minnesota). Utilize Vita-Shakes as an additional training meal food source. There is no other food source that comes remotely close to the Sunrider foods - whole-food concentrates (alkaline-rich) are the food source of the future for world-class athletes. Remember, eliminate all carbonated drinks.(the fizz in pop depletes the calcium in your bones. Consume no sugar after 6PM because it causes the adrenal glands to stay open (like a car in passing gear all-nite), when you should be sleeping. Remember to be sleep from 10PM to 2AM, otherwise, your body does not regenerate. Also the optimum workout time is 6AM to 8AM because the body is at its strongest and most rested state. Also a point few realize, remember your body craves all day whatever your tongue touches first in the morning, that being the case, start with water to hydrate the body. (http://rmcdonald7.qhealthzone.com/) I recommend "Perfect Water" which can be found on my website. Also consider EXS Gold energy drinks to offset bad energy drinks, in my opinion, like Red Bull, which can cause your heart to burst eventually. These are some general ideas that can help you plan a regimen that will take you to the next level, as a HWT champion with lean muscle mass, and energy to spare enabling you to wrestle like a light-weight without having to ever pace yourself because of energy concerns. Let me know if you have any additional questions, but this should get you down the road quickly. Keep me up on your progress. Good luck!!
Yours in the Quest for Gold,
Coach Rae-Rae McDonald
