Answer
Hi Sonia I am glad to see that you wish to learn how to swim. You will really enjoy the benefits of the sport in the future.
The first thing about learning how to swim is to pick a pool, lake or which ever sourse of water you want to learn how to swim in a comfortable environment for you. I would start by trying to go into the shallow end and getting used to the water. You could use a noodle or a kickboard to help support you in an area where you can touch to begin with. You might try finding a water movement class or water aerobic so that you can get comfortable in the shallow water first.
The amount of classes is going to depend upon you and if you are able to practice between sessions. The general rule I have found is about 6. $30.00 seems quite costly. But if the instructor is good it may be worth it. Often places will have adult lessons that would cost less.
I too am 27 and I have had a child and have been unable to loose the weight and get back down to my original size. They make some very nice swim suits that have built in bust and tummy tucks or in my opinion I prefer the skirt style swim suits. Be careful to but one that isn't too long and flowy because it will be hard to swim with. They have them at a variety of stores but to be honest the better the quality the less the chlorine will eat them.
Good Luck Sonia . Once you begin lesson if you have questions for me feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you.
