water safety
Question
I work over water at heights of 50-70 feet. In the case of an unexpected fall, what is the best way to try to land in the water to minimize injury? Would wearing a life jacket help or hurt the situation?
Thanks!
Answer
From 50-70 feet the best way to land, if possible, is feet first. You aren't likely to get hurt too bad from that height, maybe get the wind knocked out of you or at worst a concussion if you catch your chin at the right angle. In my opinion a life jacket isn't going to be that beneficial from that height, so depending on how comfortable you are with the water will determine whether you want a life jacket or not.
Hope this helps.
