backstroke to breaststroke IM turn
Question
Dear Kate
I 'll like to know when doing the backstroke to breaststroke IM turn, how do you go about it? It seems there are a few types ie open turn, flip turn etc. Is the flip turn sort of a reverse tumble turn? It's said that you may not have enough air after doing this so called flip turn . Which turn is recommended?
Thank you and Happy Holidays.
Truly
Eddie
Answer
Eddie,
I am sorry but I do not know what IM is. Is that an abbreviation? Personally I do the flip turn and I only blow out enough air to keep my nose from filling up with water as I invert and turn. If you are not swimming professionally it is perfectly acceptable to grab the side of the wall tuck your feet up to the wall and push off. I hope that helps. Again if you can explain what IM is I may be able to help you further.
