Diving Work out
Question
I am a 16 year old former dancer who now is interested in competitive diving. I have started with an Olympic caliber coach at a private club but I realize I am a little old to be starting the sport with no previous experience. I really want a work out routine that I can do once a day to help get me in the shape I need to be to perform at my highest potential.
I am lean from dance but lack the strength I've seen in other divers. Help would be greatly appreciated !

16 is by no means too old to start diving(I really didn't start until I was 17). Having been a dancer, you already have the leg strength to do quite well, as well as the body control necessary to be successful. The best thing to work on, is a solid ab workout. (Sit-ups, crunches, etc.) Also, some tricep extensions(sit on a chair with your hands on either side of your hips, slide your hips off the front of the chair and do a kind of reverse push up) would be good. This is the type of thing you can do everyday. Best of luck, it's a lot of work, but it is also a lot of fun
Don't give up on yourself.
