Can your pants inflate if you put water into them?

Pants cannot inflate if water is put into them. This misconception seems to be based on the visual effect observed when baggy pants hang loosely from a high elevation and resemble the shape of a balloon. Although the pants may appear inflated, there is no actual addition of air or inflation occurring within the pants.
