coaching diving books

Hi,

I am looking for a good book that details how to coach diving. It is a gift for my brother who will be coaching high school springboard diving. He dove in high school, but I think a book would help him coach others.

I am going to give you some websites to go to where you can choose from several different books on coaching diving as well as videos, dvd's and computer software:

www.usadiving.org. Click on "Store" and then click on "Educational Materials". There you will find the USA Diving Safety Training Manual that many high school coaches use. It is the book used to be a Safety Certified Coach which some schools require. You will also find lots of other educational materials on diving to choose from.This is the website for the National Governing Body of the sport and has the most useful info on coaching.

www.springboardsandmore.com. Click on "New Products" and look for a book entitled "A Comprehensive View of Competitive Diving" by Hobie Billingsley. This is the most recent book published about coaching.The author is one of the most successful diving coaches ever in the U.S.

www.amazon.com. In the search box, type in "Diving For Gold" by Ron O'Brien. When you get to the page make sure you look for the book on diving and not "scuba". There are two books with the same title so do not get the one about underwater diving! This book also came with a video/dvd but since it is quite old, I do not know if the video is still available.Even though old, it is a very informative book.
