adult rec diving club, dc
Question
Hi, I used to be a competitive diver when I was in high school and a little bit in college. I am now 24 and would like to find a recreational diving club in DC (or northern virginia, md..) just to get back on the board and work out once a week - the mastersdiving.com website has not been working for me, I was wondering if you knew of any clubs that I might be able to sign up for?
Thanks!!

There are two USA Diving clubs in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area that I know of:
Montgomery Dive Club uses two pools, one in Bethesda (Montgomery Aquatic Center) and one in Boyds (Germantown pool). The program is run by a friend of mine named John Wolsh. I do not know if they have a masters program. For more info go to:www.montgomerydiveclub.com.
You can also try another friend, Roland McDonald, who runs the Patriot Dive Club in Annandale Virginia. Go to http://patriotdiveclub.homestead.com/home.html I also do not know if he has a masters program.
There is also the York Diving Team but I do not have their contact info. They are in Alexandria. You could ask Roland or John how to get a hold of Bill York the head coach.
At the masters website, if you click on "E-mails" there are a couple of names of divers who live in Alexandria VA that you might want to contact:Ashley Keapproth, Carol Mackela and Megan O'Connell. Maybe they know of a place you can dive.
You can find more info about diving at these websites:
www.usadiving.org
www.aausports.com
www.flipnrip.com
www.divemeets.com
www.springboardsandmore.com
www.usadiver.com
Good luck in your search.
