Looking for a diving club
Question
Hello,
I am looking for a diving club in South New Jersey. I'm 31 and used to dive and would love to get back into it for fun. Do you know of any clubs in the area that offer this?
Thanks
Karen

Karen -
The best place for you start finding other adult divers in your area is to go www.mastersdiving.org. Masters diving is a term used for adult recreational competitive diving. When you get to the home page of this website on the left hand side, click on E-mail addresses. When that page comes up, scroll down the page looking for people who live in NJ. Since I do not know the city you live in I do not know if the people you find (I saw 4)live near you. I would contact them and find out where they dive and if they know of a pool with a coach in your area.
Also go to www.usadiving.org. At the top of the page, click on Clubs and then Find A Club. Enter NJ and a list of teams will come up. The best person to contact about diving in your state is Coach Candace from Blue Dolphin Diving. She will know where you can start diving.
Another source you can try is www.divemeets.com. At the top of the page, click on Lists of Divers, Teams & Coaches. Navigate your way around to find clubs, coaches and other divers who live in NJ.You will have to become a member, but registration is free.
Also try www.flipnrip.com. This is website for parents and divers. They also have a huge list of teams, coaches and divers from all around the country. Another free registration site to join.
Other diving websites:
www.aaudiving.org - Click on Diving Sport Contacts. When the map comes up , click on district numbers closest to you. Contact that person about diving programs near you. This level of diving is for people 20 years and younger but I am sure you can find info on diving in your area if the above websites do not help you.
www.diving.about.com - Site that explains the sport.
www.usadiver.com - Articles about diving.
Good luck in your search. I am sure you will find something.
