lessons for 10 yrd old boy

Where can my fifth grader/10 year old boy get board diving lessons without enrolling in a residential camp? He had some lesson at Camp Kennolyn but doesn't want to enroll in camp there again. We are in santa cruz county, california. thanks

The best person for you to contact in the Santa Cruz area that can help you find what you are looking for is the diving coach at U.C. Santa Cruz, Joan Newby. She has coached diving in the Santa Cruz area for over 20 years. I knew her from when I coached at West Valley College in Saratoga and she was at Cabrillo College in Aptos.Just Google 'U.C. Santa Cruz Athletic Department' and I am sure you can find her contact info there.

You can also try the Monterey Peninsula Diving Team that uses the pool at Pacific Grove H.S.
Contact Coach Heidi at 831-656-0448/ e-mail [email protected]. She might also be able to send you in the right direction.

This is high school diving season so if you go by Santa Cruz H.S. after school you might see the athletes practicing or having a meet. Ask the coaches at various high schools with pools where there are diving lessons. Also it is Junior College diving season so going by Cabrillo College in Aptos could be another source of finding lessons for your diver.
