Northern California Camps
Question
Hello,
I am looking for a day camp for my 9 year old daughter. I have been searching the web but cannot find any beginner camps. Any advice?
Thank you,
Laura

The best website for you to go to find out where beginning diving is offered near you is:
www.usadiving.org. Click on Clubs and then Find A Club.Enter California and a list of teams will come up. The ones in the S.F. Bay area are found in Santa Clara Co., the East Bay and Sacramento.
Look for these teams:
All Valley Divers, California Sports Center, Capital Divers, Diablo Divers, Dos Rios Divers,Santa Clara Divers, Stanford Diving, U.C. Berkeley Golden Bears, Sherman Divers, Wolverine Diving and West Coast Divers.
Do not expect to find a day camp at these pools. The reason is that diving teams get a limited amount of pool time due to sharing with other aquatic sports/programs.You will find beginning lessons from these teams but I doubt they offer camps to kids that young. If they do offer a camp, it is usually to more advanced divers.Kids new diving at that age typically only have enough energy/attention span to dive for about an hour or so as opposed to all day. This is why you are probably having a hard time finding what you are looking for.
Good luck in your search.
