Stingrays are bottom-dwelling fish that live on the ocean floor, and they generally don't dive deep into the water. Most stingrays are found in shallow coastal waters, and they typically stay close to the bottom. Some species, like the giant manta ray, can dive down to depths of around 1,200 meters, but this is relatively rare. Most stingrays prefer to stay in shallower waters, where they can find food and shelter.
