How can you repair an approximately 2 ft diameter size dent in the side of a above ground Doughboy pool?

Materials Needed:

- Measuring Tape

- Plastic Sheeting

- Sand

- Heavy Object

- Pool Repair Adhesive Kit

Step 1: Prep Work

1. Measure the Dent: Use a measuring tape to determine the exact dimensions of the dent.

2. Prepare the Area: Remove any water from inside the pool around the dent. Ensure the surface of the pool is clean, dry, and free from debris.

3. Add Pressure to Smooth the Dent: Place a piece of plastic sheeting over the dent and fill the pool at least halfway to add pressure to the dent and smooth it out.

Step 2: Applying Adhesive

1. Use Adhesive Kit: Open the pool repair adhesive kit and mix the components as per the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Apply Adhesive Patch: Apply a patch from the adhesive kit to the dent, ensuring that it covers the entire affected area.

3. Press and Hold: Press firmly on the adhesive patch to ensure proper adhesion.

4. Cover the Patch: Place another piece of plastic sheeting over the adhesive patch to protect it.

Step 3: Weighing Down the Pool

1. Add Weight: Fill a bucket or container with sand and place it on the plastic sheeting over the repair area.

2. Distribute Weight Evenly: Distribute the weight evenly to provide uniform pressure over the repair.

Step 4: Allow Adhesive to Set

1. Set Time: Allow the adhesive to set and cure for the recommended time as per the manufacturer's instructions (typically 24 to 48 hours).

2. Check Adhesion: After the set time, remove the weight, plastic sheeting, and let the pool dry. Gently press on the repaired area to ensure the dent has been successfully fixed.

Step 5: Finish

1. Finalize: Allow the pool to fully dry before adding water.

2. Test and Enjoy: The repaired pool should hold water without leaking. Enjoy your pool-time without the dent!

Tips:

1. If the adhesive doesn't adhere well, lightly roughen the surface of the pool where you're applying it.

2. Don't overfill the pool, as this could put too much pressure on the repaired area.

3. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for both the pool repair adhesive and your specific Doughboy pool model.
