College diving summer programs
Question
My daughter just started diving this year in college(she was a former gymnast). Where in NJ can she join a summer program to learn new dives and practice? We are in Bridgewater,NJ.
Answer
Nancy -
Here are my suggestions for finding a summer diving program:
www.bluedolphindiving.com - This is one of the most successful teams in NJ. They practice at the College of New Jersey in Ewing about 33 miles south. They are also affiliated with the college team at Rutgers coached by Fred Woodruff.
A little closer is a program at Rider University in Lawrenceville. Look up contact info at the schools athletic department website found at www.rider.edu/athletics.
www.divemeets.com At the top of the homepage, click on Lists of Divers, Teams and Coaches. At the next page click on Teams. A huge list will come up. Scroll down to NCAA and look up teams in NJ. Just click on the schools name next to 'NJ' and contact info will come up.
You might also consider going northeast to New York. Go to www.usadiving.org, click on Clubs and then Find A Club. Enter New York and a list of teams will come up. There are some probably just as close as Ewing. Also click on college teams in NY on the divemeets.com website. This usadiving.org website will also list summer camps she may want to attend. Some very good ones are found at the University of Indiana on Bloomington and also at the University of Texas in Austin.

Good luck in your search. I am sure you will find something that suits her fine.
