Diving safety equipment?
Question
Hi,
I posted a question to you a few days back but probably since English is my second language, I couldnt explain it well.
I was talking about springboard diving and not diving off blocks.
So, my question is:
What equipment should I use for maximising safety while springboard or platform diving?
I am not good at treading water. And water gets in my nose during dives. I need a floating device or something of that sort, that will bring me to the surface every time I dive from a springboard, at the same time not hampering the dive.
So what should I use? Arm floats, floating belts or something different?

You need to take swimming lessons to get over the problems you describe. You really should not be trying to dive off a board if you cannot swim properly. If you get hurt and cannot make it back to the surface, you could drown. I do not know of any flotation equipment that will work properly - they will probably just come off upon impact with the water. These types of flotation devices are designed to keep non swimmers from going underwater and the whole point of diving is to go down deep. I urge you to discontinue trying to dive off a board until you are a good swimmer.
