walking vs. jogging
Question
Which is better, walking 4 miles or jogging 1 and 1/2 mile? It takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to walk 4 miles. If I jogged, I could cut down my time, but I don't think I could go as far because of the extra effort and pounding on my joints. I am 36 years old, 199 pounds, 5'8" female, excersizing for weight loss and prevention of type 2 diabetes and heart disease which runs in the family. Thanks for your opinion and insights. :-)Sherry
Answer
HI SHERRY
MY DAUGHTER POWER WALKS 4 MILE A DAY AND IN ONE HALF HOUR.
SHE IS SO FIT, IF YOU ARE THEN U COULD DO IT ALSO.
I FEEL JOGGING DROPS THE FACIAL MUSCLES, SAGS OUR FACE PREMATURELY AND IS HARDER ON OUR JOINTS, KNEES, ANKELS, LEGS ...PERIOD, BACK, ETC.
I FEEL WALKING IS MUCH BETTER FOR PEOPLE 30 AND OVER. JUST A HEALTHIER WAY TO EXERCISE, TAKE THE TIME TO WALK, POWER WALK, SWING YOUR ARMS AND U WILL SWEAT, DO A WARM UP AND COOL DOWN.
SET GOALS SUCH AS WALKING TO GET TO ONE HALF HOUR, WORK AND REACH THAT GOAL. YOU WILL FEEL BETTER, LOOSE WEIGHT, AND BE SO IN CONDITION. I WOULD QUIT THE JOGGING AND MAYBE JUST ONCE A WEEK OR COUPLE TIMES A MONTH, IT REALLY IS NOT GOOD UNLESS YOUR GOING TO CONDITION UP TO BE A RUNNER.
