How much to Walk?

Question
I am a 28 year old female who recently made a commitment to get back in shape.  So far I've lost 30 pounds through regular walking and healthy eating.  I'm happy with my status now but my question is none of the treadmills I've used give me an accurate calorie burned amount.  How much walking should I do to achieve optimal results with minimal time?  I am only 5'1" and weigh approx 103 lbs.  I can tell I'm not working myself as much as when I first started.  Currently I'm doing 30 minutes at full incline 4-5 days a week at about 3.2 mph.  Would it be better to increase the time I'm walking or the intensity...I don't want to lose anymore weight, just continue to build up my stamina.

Answer
Hi Angela
You sound very thin already so u do not want to loose another pound.  You need to eat some real healthy foods, take vitamins during this lose.
If you can get out to Power Walk some this is big now, head up large of steps as u can fast as u can, u can hold weights.  My daughter does 4 mile a day.
She finds one good hill also.
The highly expensive ones would tell you, but it is not to see what you burned but that you do the work and be content about it.
Walking an incline 5 days a week is plenty no matter the speed, it is hard on the back, u can hurt the leg muscles, so watch and be careful.  Do some weights in a gym for toning.  Do some jumping jacks at home, some sit ups, and a routine in between to tone and tighten.  I feel thiry minutes in long enough and just continue to do what your doing, it is working, try and maybe bike some and do weights to break the boredom and to work other muscles.

warm regards
patt
