Bone Spur
Question
Dear Scott,
I realize you are not a doctor but I am hoping you might be able to help. A few years ago a fifty pound box fell behind my right foot (on the area that if you are wearing sandals where the strap rests) knocking a bone out so that it developed into a bone spur. Although it is not as noticeable as it once was the pain is still incredible and I still feel the bone rubbing against a nerve or whatever it is everytime my right foot hits the ground. Do you know very much about procedures to remove bone spurs or if they naturally just disappear over time because the way it rubs against a nerve has still not gone away and I need to do something about it. Thank you,
Sincerely,
Noriya
Answer
I am certainly not qualified to give medical advice, but I don't think bone spurs go away by themselves. To get the most conservative advice possible, you could consult a chiropractor that specializes in foot problems. If he/she can't help, he/she should point you to a reliable physician.
