Windrange larger sails/heavy sailor

Question
Hi Windlover.  I am looking to get a larger sail to get me out in lighter winds days.  I would like to use my 145ltr JP excite...my largest sail at the moment being 6.2m north natural.  Bearing in mind I weigh 200lbs what sail size will get me going fast in say 10 mph winds.  It is currently not even worth me going out with my 6.2 unless it is at least a SOLID 15mph wind and is good upto 25mph.  Because of weight I have had my 5.2 out in 30mph gusting higher.
I was guessing about 8m may be suitable...but have seen sails so upto 9.8m??...were would you use them?
Looking forward to you reply
Thanks Adam
P.S. what is meant by the term "house sail"...I currently use north sails.

Answer
Hey Adam,

The recommended sail sizes for your 145 are 6.0-10.0. With your size and wanting to plane in 10-12mph winds, you would probably want to go at least 9.5 but a 10.0 would probably be a bit better. You would also need to go with a larger fin. Not sure what size you would need to have for a larger sail but with a little researching, I'm sure you can find out what would work best for a bigger sail.

As for where you would use a large sail, the same place you use your current sails. You would be able to sail on the light wind days.

A house sail is usually an off brand that a particular shop is an exclusive dealer for. Kind of like at a bar, the house booze is the cheap stuff compared to name brand. North sails are top shelf sails. Very good quality and workmanship.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
