WANTED: Old bic board

A new board manufacturer explained to me that if I wanted a board for SUP Stand-Up Paddling on VERY flat water on a small inland lake what I'm looking for is an old Bic board so I could try it out.  At age 64, I'm not doing any acrobatics and only need something that's long and wide enough so I can enjoy a gentle SUP.  I'm in Michigan and Illinois, but it can be shipped from anywhere.   How do I find such an old Bic sailboard?  Would a windsurfer work?  I don't really need the $1000-$2000 new boards for my very limited type of use, right?

Any old windsurfer will work as a SUP board. You can find them on your local craigslist or ebay. For an old board like a BIC or Windsurfer, you shouldn't pay more than about $50 for one in great condition. There are many out there and most aren't being used as they are very outdated for windsurfing. But, that's good for you. If you find something on craigslist, don't be afraid to talk them down to a reasonable price. Some folks think that old boards still hold some value but most times a person literally has to give them away.
