Question
Mistral Part
I've attached a picture of the part. My windsurf set-up is rather old, and this plastic piece broke. As you can see from the picture, it's at the end of the "boom" and attaches the sail at the farthest point away from the mast, essentially streching the sail horizontally, so that it catches wind. This broken plastic piece, connects the aluminum "grab" bars (boom?) which go around both sides of the sail. I grab these aluminum bars while windsurfing
Please respond to let me know you have received this, and if the picture is sufficient to help you identify the part.
I await your reply, as the wind is blowing right now, and I am missing great opportunities to do my new favorite thing: windsurfing.
Thanks for your help in the matter. With great anticipation,
Peter
AnswerHey Peter,
You may be able to find a replacement tailpiece at chinooksailing.com, or oceanairsports.com. If those don't work, check ebay searching for windsurf, windsurfer, windsurfing. You may find a similar boom for sale/auction that could be used as a replacement or parts. If you aren't able to find a tailpiece, you will probably have to get another boom.
Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
