missing mast sail and connecter to board
Question
i have a fanatic bat board that was given to me and was wondering where to get parts and what the price range would be the guy said he didnt know what the part was to connect the mast to the board the adjuster on the board is still the just no the boot or joint part
Answer
Hey Eric,
What you need is called the mast base. It connects to the mast by sliding into the mast and then the down-haul rope for the sail holds it in. Then the bottom of the mast base will connect to the board.
Here is where the dilemma comes in. If your board has a Fanatic specific type of connection, it will be very difficult to find a working base to fit as they are not made any more. If your board has a standard type mast track, then any after market mast base will work.
A standard track is basically a slot in the top of the board with the rear part having a wider spot to insert the slider nut. A specific type may be just a hole or two or possibly a moveable track that would require a pin to insert into the slider track.
As there are various years and models of the Fanatic Bat, I would have to see a picture of your mast track to determine what type of mast base you would require.
Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
